I based this on my own hypnogogic meditation practices (aka, naptime). I once played LucasArts X-Wing for 12 hours straight overnight and then hallucinated the entire campaign on a road trip to the mall the next morning. And now it's how my protagonist interacts with her shadow demon 🤷.
