Justin Zimmer is a fiction author based in Gilbert, Arizona. He writes dark, character-driven fiction about people who don’t fit—including The Shadowmancer Chronicles, a YA historical fantasy series, and The Girl with the Cybernetic Eye, an adult sci-fi serial with Book One of each complete and launch imminent. He is the father of six.

Justin Zimmer is a fiction author, based in Gilbert, Arizona. He writes character-driven dark fiction for readers who have never quite fit—in their families, their centuries, or their own skin.
His YA historical fantasy series, The Shadowmancer Chronicles, follows fifteen-year-old Mattie Mae Albright through 1921 coastal Massachusetts as ancient Sumerian mythology bleeds from the ruins of a defunct Masonic lodge. Modeled on the myth of Inanna’s descent, the seven-book series is written for anxious, grieving, neurodivergent readers who need stories that see them coming. The first chapters are available on Substack; the series is in active development toward publication.
His adult sci-fi serial, The Girl with the Cybernetic Eye, follows Simonee Saran—a woman born of AI generated DNA, stumbling through a human universe and pretending to be one of them. The series deals with coming to understand what and who she is, and taking on the power structures that lead to her very existence. Book One is complete and available on Substack. Book Two is in progress, with market launch imminent.
Zimmer is the father of six children, and the landlord for one dog and two cats. Most of whom are significantly smarter than he is—yes, that includes the dog.
